Frankie’s has recently begun his 5 week board and train program with us. His family has done training with him before, but have just recently started to experience aggression issues with him. Frankie has always struggled with anxiety and was put on medication to help this. After a short while of taking the medication, he lashed out several times towards with owners. They have since stopped the medication, but are still seeing an increase in aggression and crate aggression.
Frankie has attempted to bite both of his owners on different occasions and has started to become even more anxious in the crate. Even the word crate is beginning to set Frankie off and has caused him to react negatively. Family members who used to handle him have even stopped doing anything with him for fear that they too will get bitten.
He has a great obedience foundation, but is in need of some serious rehabilitation to stop this aggression behavior both in and out of the crate. His owners have had to resort to crating him and allowing him outside using a dog run as to limit their exposure to him. He is mostly in the crate and one of his owners cannot even handle him when she is alone in the house. They are extremely dedicated to him and want to stop being afraid of their own dog.
In this clip, you can see how anxious Frankie is. He is climbing on his owners and whining constantly. We will be helping them to get Frankie into a better state of mind and become more balanced. He is will be learning what his role is and what leadership is. Any negative behavior will be corrected once he knows what we expect of him. Check back soon to see how Frankie is doing!
